Kim Hunter... Husband, Father, Grandfather

Hey there everyone! I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for your kind words and flowers over the past week. Last Monday I posted a blog about my father in law and less than 24 hours later he passed away. It was good for him he was in such bad shape but so hard for the ones he had to leave behind, especially my mother in law. So thanks again to all of you for everything! Here is his obituary.........

Kim M. Hunter "How lucky are we to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard" Our Husband, Father and Grandfather left us on March 31, 2009 after a tough battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Kim was born October 19, 1949, he grew up in Murray and on April 11, 1969 he married the girl next door, his childhood sweetheart, Connie Deshler. Kim served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. After returning home he and Connie started their family, they had two boys, Christopher and Shawn. Kim loved coaching their baseball teams, boating, camping and hunting with his family. Old cars were a must! In 2004 he and Connie welcomed their first grandson to the world and over the next few years they were blessed with two more grandsons. He loved playing cars and trucks with them, everything they did was funny to him. His first granddaughter is due to arrive this summer and she will also be named after him, he would have loved spoiling her! His dogs also had a very soft place in his heart, they certainly were loved, we know they will miss him! Kim was a great father and husband. He had a great laugh and loved telling old stories. His daughter-in-law once quoted him as saying "I can't remember a minute in my life when I didn't love Connie." What a guy!! Kim is survived by his devoted wife Connie, son Chris, his wife Jen and their son Preston. Also son Shawn, his wife Jamie and their sons Colton and Chase (and soon to arrive Cimberly). He is preceded in death by his Mother, Jeanne Clark Hunter. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Alzheimers Assoc., 800-272-3900 or the Utah Humane Society, 801-261-2919 ex.208. Private family services will be held. Online condolences: www.broomheadfuneralhome.com

Jamie--I am so sorry to hear about this. When I read your previous post, I was heartbroken. I lost my grandmother and a great aunt to Alzheimers and it is something I dont wish upon anyone. You are a strong family with adorable children. And I have no doubt your cute father-in-law was a fabulous man who passed on lots of wonderful qualities to your husband.

Jame, I am so sorry to hear about Shawn's dad! I hope you're both doing o.k. It's crazy that even though we know death is imminent, we're never ready for it. The void left by a loved one is so hard to deal with. He was lucky to have such an AMAZING daughter-in-law and family. I love you. You are in my prayers! Love, Jess
